Anne Mary Mauhar, age 96, formerly of Ensign passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at the Pinecrest Medical Care Facility in Powers.

Anne was born October 19, 1918 in Ensign Township, the daughter of John and Slava (Stemic) Mauhar. She was raised and attended school in Ensign. She eventually moved to lower Michigan where she resided in Detroit and Mancelona for many years. Anne worked for General Dynamics in Detroit for several years until she retired in 1984. She was a longtime member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Mancelona and was an avid member of the Warren Polka Boosters. Anne eventually returned home in 1996 and was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Rapid River. She loved Polka music and dancing, playing cards, going for rides and spending time with her nieces and nephews

Anne is survived by her brother, Bill Mauhar, her sister, Mary Dominick and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Joseph, Tony, John, Matt, Ed and infant brother, Frank, sisters, Sally Lapuszewski and Emma Harte.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Becky Gouin and her family and the Pinecrest Medical Care Facility for the all their care, love and help they offered over the years.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 7 from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. The Rosary will be recited at 11:00 AM. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 12:00 PM at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Rapid River with Rev. Fr. Jacek Wtyklo officiating. Anne will be laid to rest in the Rapid River Cemetery.

    Dear Lori and family – My sympathies to all of you on the loss of your sweet Auntie Anne. How lucky she was to have had your loving care.

    Anne worked for us many years ago when my mother became ill. We were so grateful to have her and we had lots of fun and laughs working together. she was a great caring lady.
