Denise K Pelish, 66 of Gladstone passed away Wednesday December 8th, 2021, at her home after an extensive battle with breast cancer.
Denise was born in Mount Pleasant, Michigan on December 18, 1954, to Wayne and Joyce Riske. She graduated from Saint Clair High School in 1973. In her younger days Denise loved horseback riding and downhill skiing. She spent many years employed in the medical field, most recently at Body Mechanix in Escanaba.
She was an inspiring soul, always there for all that came to her with their troubles. Her home was open to anyone, and she was a second mom to many. Denise lived life to its fullest and enjoyed chatting with friends and family, spending time at her grandson’s football, basketball, and baseball games or at home baking with and for him.
She is survived by her daughter Jennifer (Carl) Nyberg and her special “buddy”/grandson Anthony Pelish, extended family Denielle Bowen and Natasha (Jack) Ratliff, as well as her many close friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents Wayne and Joyce Riske, her brother Michael, and her significant other Dennis Bowen.
The family will hold a celebration of life at the Skradski Family Funeral Home in Escanaba on Thursday, December 16, 2021, from 3-5 pm.

Words do not exist to define what a wonderful person she was or what she meant to me and others. Her absence is heart breaking. Rest in peace my friend and I hope you received your wish.
