Mary Lou Lundin

Resided in Escanaba, MI
Died September 21, 2021

Mary Lou Lundin, age 76, passed away on September 21, 2021, after a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s Disease. She was born on September 9th, 1945 in Escanaba, Michigan, to George and Constance (Seymour) Marcouiller. Mary Lou graduated from Escanaba Area High School in 1963 and worked for many years in the Boiler House at Mead Paper, from where she retired in 2007.

In 1964, Mary Lou married William “Bill” Lundin and together they raised their four children. Mary Lou enjoyed playing cards, golfing, and camping. However, more than anything, she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Watching her four granddaughters and one grandson grow gave her so much pride and joy. When she was able, you could find her attending their dance shows, basketball games, and school programs or giving them candy right before bedtime. Mary Lou wore her heart on her sleeve; she would always step in to stop bullying and she would move the world to help someone she loved. Her family will miss her tremendously.

Mary Lou is survived by Bill; her children, Trina (Brian) Levesque of Combined Locks, Wisconsin, Shane Lundin of Escanaba, Michigan, Dana Lundin of Kimberly, Wisconsin, and Jason (Sabrina) Lundin of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan; grandchildren Kyra Levesque, Cassandra Levesque, Mya Lundin, Ariana Lundin, and Xander Lundin; and her sisters Judy (Micheal) Davio and Michelle “Micki” Marcouiller.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Family will receive friends on Sunday, September 26, 2021, at Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Funeral services will follow visitation at 4:00 PM with Rev. Fr. Jamie Ziminski officiating. Following the service, family members will gather at Mary Lou and Bill’s home in Escanaba. Masks are required upon entry of the funeral home. The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the Lundin family.

6 Tributes for “Mary Lou Lundin

Sending love to all who loved her. To my friend Dana and her beautiful children- we love you and are here for you. The love and care you showed your mom/Grandma was very special and I’m in awe of your dedication and love of her. What a lucky lady to have you. She sounds like she loved you all fiercely and I can tell we lost a loving member of our community.

Condolences from Mary Lou’s graduating class of 1963. Her obituary is a reflection of the girl she was and the woman she became. We’re sorry for your loss.

    Trina and Family,
So sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this most sorrowful time.

I only lived a half block or so from her when we were both about 6-7 years old and I joined her “Brownie” group (the younger Girl Scout group). Always remember her big smile and warm personality. She was in my 1963 graduating class but then I lived away for 35 years and only came back 19 years ago to care for a brother. What a wonderful family she was blessed with! My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. May God give you peace at this difficult time.
