Richard Buckman, 73, of Gladstone (formerly of Chicago) passed away Tuesday morning October 14, 2008 at the Pinecrest Medical Care Facility in Powers, MI.
Richard was born July 19, 1935 in Escanaba, the son of Albert and Julia (Erickson) Buckman. Richard was raised in Gladstone and was a graduate of Gladstone High School, class of 1954. Following graduation he moved to Chicago. On May 19, 1973 he married Joan Laurenzano in Chicago. She preceded him in death on May 22, 1995. Richard worked for the Warner Wallpaper Company in Chicago. He was a very dedicated and dependable employee there for 30 years.
Richard was an excellent bowler. Years ago he bowled for the Gillis Bowling Team in Gladstone. Richard was also an avid Chicago Cubs Fan. Richard returned to Gladstone in October of 2007. He was well loved by family and friends and will be dearly missed.
Richard is survived by;
2 step-daughters: Cheryl (James) Johnson and Christine Swinton, both of Chicago
2 brothers; Harlan (Pat) Buckman of Hastings, MI and Mark (Marilyn) Buckman of Gladstone.
2 step grandchildren, his pride and joy, Amanda Johnson and Scott Swinton

In addition to his parents and wife, Richard was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Grace Buckman.
Memorial services celebrating the life of Richard Buckman will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Fernwood Cemetery in Gladstone.
