Mary Kay Agerter, age 84, of Escanaba, formerly of West Concord, MN, passed away on Saturday, February 27, 2021, at Christian Park Healthcare Center in Escanaba, with her husband Ronald by her side.
Mary Kay was born December 8, 1936, in Rochester, MN, the daughter of Vincent and Zettie (Nelson) Pirkl. Mary Kay grew up in West Concord and was a graduate of West Concord High School. Mary Kay worked as a bookkeeper at the Metropolitan Medical Center of Minneapolis for many years, and thoroughly enjoyed her work. In 1956, Mary Kay was united in marriage to her husband, Ronald Agerter, and together they have shared 65 wonderful years of memories.
Mary Kay and Ron came to the Upper Peninsula in 1970 and resided until moving away in 1980. They returned to the Upper Peninsula in 2013 and have remained here since. Mary Kay enjoyed nature, and bible study classes. Mary Kay was a devoted parishioner of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Escanaba. She will be truly missed by many.
Mary Kay is survived by her loving husband Ron, her children Tom (Barbara) Agerter, Tamara Agerter, and Traci (Butch) Wilcox, and her grandchildren Melissa Tumbleson, Lucas Agerter, Marina Agerter, Jeffrey, Michael, and Corey Murray, Jenna Bernklau, and Joey Luzinski.
Mary Kay is preceded in death by her parents, Vincent and Zettie, her daughter Theresa Fellows, sister Barbara (Wayne) Witt, and grandson Martin Fellows.
Family will receive friends on Friday, March 5, 2021, from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Skradski Funeral Home in Escanaba. Memorial services honoring Mary Kay will follow visiting at 11:30 AM with Rev. Fr. Rick Courier officiating. Mary Kay will be laid to rest in the Saint Vincent de Paul Cemetery in West Concord, MN.
