Richard “Skinny” Deneau, age 74, of Cornell passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on January 17, 2021.
Richard was born July 23, 1946 in Escanaba, the son of Lawrence and Mary (Maki) Deneau. He was united in marriage to Janet Frizzell for 48 years. He worked for 27 years and retired from the Mead Paper Corporation and enjoyed hunting, fishing, drinking coffee, playing guitar and spending time with his family. He was very proud of his children and grandchildren.
Richard is survived by his daughters, Amy (Tim) Mathieson of Escanaba and Laurie (Mike) Couillard of Oconto, WI; grandchildren, Justin, Trevor, Devin and Morgan Mathieson and Aubree Couillard; brothers, Larry “Kat” (Liz) Deneau, Dennis “Fud” (Lee) Deneau and Paul “Buck” Deneau and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Janet, his daughter, Brenda, his parents, brothers, Martin “Fat” (Marcie) Deneau and James (Betsy) Deneau and his sister, Marlene (Chuck) Cretens.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 23 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Skradski Family Funeral Home in Escanaba. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 PM with Pastor Dave Hanson officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Gardens of Rest Cemetery.
Masks and social distancing are required upon entering the funeral home.

So sorry to lose your Dad. We were good friends and enjoyed played guitars and went to the Pizza Hut. We played at theTerrace and so much fun.
And on our trip to Branson. That was so much fun.
