Darrell D. Mullins, Sr, age 83, of Gladstone, passed away Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at OSF St. Francis Hospital in Escanaba.

Darrell was born May 15, 1937, in Danville, IL, the son of Grover and Jessie (Pollitt) Mullins. He attended and graduated from Oakwood Twp. High School. Darrell was a foster Grandparent at Cameron Elementary and Lemmer Elementary School for many years. He was loved by students and staff alike. He was a member of Grace Church in Gladstone for many years. He was united in marriage to Virginia Peevler on June 16, 1957. He enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Darrell is survived by:
Son: Darrell (Debbie) Mullins, Jr. of Gladstone, MI
Daughter: Della (Dave) Kuhl of Holdingford, MN
7 Grandchildren
7 Great Grandchildren
And several Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins

In addition to his Parents and loving Wife, Virginia, Darrell was preceded in death by:
6 brothers
And 2 Sisters

Family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 4, from 2:00 until 4:00 PM at Grace Church in Gladstone. Funeral Services will begin at 4:00 PM at the Grace Church in Gladstone. Darrell will be laid to rest in the Hackett Cemetery next to his loving wife.     My wife and I send our condolences to the family of Darrell Mullins. He was a good guy with an upbeat attitude and, along with his wife, raised a fine family.

    I am so very sorry about your loss. This man was such a wonderful man. Prayers for the family and friends.

    Darrell blessed many people when he was in Holdingford visiting Della’s family. He became part of the Community Country Church Family & will be dearly missed. While we rejoice that Darrell is in Heaven with Jesus, our condolences & love go out to Della, Dave, Laura, Eric & the rest of his family.

    As the former president of the Foster Grandparent Program Foundation, it is with heartfelt sympathy that I send this tribute to Darell for his service to the children at Cameron and Lemmer schools. I well remember his wife Virginia as she was a Cameron Foster Grandparent with him. Both were involved with our annual fundraiser. Cherish your memories and may you have a special funeral service this coming week.

    We had many nice conversations while drinking coffee and making copies at Cameron School. Darrell and his loving wife, Virginia,, were an integral part of many school children’s and teachers lives. They affectionately referred to me as “princess”.
