Clara R. Bolek, of the Elder Inn in Rapid River, formerly of Gladstone, Sarasota and Norway, passed away peacefully on Ash Wednesday March 9, 2011 at the Elder Inn in Rapid River.
Clara was born in Wilkes-Barre, PA the daughter of John and Veronica (Nozrocki) Mack. She was united in marriage to Joseph Bolek and they made their home in Norway, MI. Clara worked and retired from the Norway Gravure Company. Following the death of her husband Joseph on December 24, 1977, Clara moved and resided in Sarasota, Florida until May of 2004 when she moved to Gladstone to be closer to her two sons.
Clara loved working in her garden. She was a Master Rose Gardener and many people would stop to admire her flowers. Her family fondly remembers her cooking, especially her Eastern European dishes. She was an excellent seamstress and she loved to dance. She treasured her grandchildren and she will be sadly missed.
