John F. “Jack” Finlan, 82, Green Bay, died unexpectedly from a massive heart attack on Tuesday, December 12, 2017. He was born on July 6, 1935, in Trenary, MI to Francis and Lucille (Peterson) Finlan.
Jack graduated from Trenary High School, Class of 1954. He started working at young age in his dad’s Red Owl store. Jack served with the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1958 and was stationed in Germany. Jack managed many grocery stores throughout the state including Red Owl, Sure Way, Festival Foods, and Jubilee, retiring in the late 1990’s.
In his “retirement” years, he made a career move to the laundry dept. at St. Vincent Hospital where he discovered a whole new work family. A job that he enjoyed to the fullest. In Jack’s spare time, he enjoyed running his produce stands in Grafton, WI and years later at the farm in his home town of Trenary, MI. Jack was always on the move. He loved puttering around the house, cheering for his beloved grandchildren, and watching the Brewers.
