Escanaba, MIJames “Jim” Emerson, age 91, passed away Tuesday, March
12, 2013, at the Bishop Noa Home in Escanaba where he resided.

Jim was born July 5, 1921, in Menominee, MI, the son of John Ralph and Pearl (Albrecht) Emerson.He was raised in Argonne, WI
where he graduated from high school.He served three years in the United States Army during WWII in the Pacific Theatre Kauai, New Guinea, and the Philippines. After his honorable discharge, Jim was a telegraph operator for the Soo Line Railroad, in Gladstone,
until his retirement.He married Gladys Olson in 1952.They were married for 60 years.Jim was past president of the Rotary Club in Gladstone. He wasa Mason, belonged to the Elks Lodge, and the Escanaba Country Club. As an amateur radio operator, his handle was K8QHA. He enjoyed building and flying model airplanes.

Emersons have many beloved nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his
sisters Verna Snow and Ethyline “Sid” McCorkle.

A Celebration of Life Service for Jim and Gladys will be
held at the Skradski Family Funeral Home, 118 South 12th
Street, Escanaba, in the spring.Jim will be laid to rest with
Gladys in the Lakeview Cemetery in Escanaba.
