Escanaba, MIMary Frances Hazelwood, 95, of Escanaba (formerly of Williamston, MI) passed away Saturday November 12, 2016 at the Saint Francis Hospital in Escanaba.
Mary was born October 22, 1921 in Weakley County, TN the daughter of Mitchell and Arbella (Freeman) Thomason. She was raised in Tennessee. Mary was united in marriage to Paul Hazelwood on May 24, 1942. They made their home in Chicago where they raised their daughter Paula.
Mary was a Southern Bell who loved to cook and spend time with her family. She always had a smile and she will be remembered for always having fun and laughing. She will be sadly missed.
Survivors include:
Grandchildren: Tracey (Jeff) Depuydt of Rapid River, MI and Todd Rickman of Lansing, MI.
Great grandchildren: Megan and Mikayla Depuydt
In addition to her parents, her husband Paul, on August 27, 1999, and daughter Paula Rickman Fate on June 10, 2011 preceded Mary in death.
According to Mary’s wishes, no visitation or funeral services will be held. She will be laid to rest next to her husband Paul at the Stanley Chapel Cemetery in Union City, TN. The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Escanaba and Gladstone are assisting the Hazelwood family.
