Harriet Granholm

Harriet Bernice Granholm, 96, passed away Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at her nephew’s home in Gladstone. Harriet was born May 29, 1920 in Perkins, Michigan. She was the daughter of Elizabeth and Charles Young. After graduating from the Baldwin Township School, she moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. On June 21, 1947 she married Walter Everett Granholm of Ensign, Michigan. Together they lived in Milwaukee until their retirement. Harriet was employed by The Master Lock Co. in the assembly plant, and later in shipping. Upon their retirement in 1977 they moved to Las Vegas, Nevada. Walter preceded her death July 12, 1981.
In 1984 Harriet moved to Waukesha, Wisconsin, then to Gladstone in 1993. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Edwin and Charles Young. She is survived by her sister, Isobel Joy Gazlay, of Gladstone, and several neices and nephews.

Harriet’s family will receive friends on Monday November 7, 2016 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM with Rev. William Rafuse of the Rapid River Congregational Church officiating. Luncheon will follow at he Jerry and Sue DuRoy’s residence. She will be laid to rest next to her husband Walter in the Fernwood Cemetery in Gladstone. .
