Audie M. Giller, age 84, of Gladstone, passed away Tuesday evening, May 24, 2016, at the V.A. Medical Center in Iron Mountain.

Audie was born June 25, 1931, in Frederic, WI, the son of Harry and Elvera (Olson) Giller. He was raised and attended school in Luck, WI. Audie eventually moved to Chicago where he enlisted in the United States Army in August of 1950. Audie served in Korea from March of 1951 to January of 1952 before reenlisting and serving until his honorable discharge in 1956. While in service, Audie received medals of commendation which included, the Combat Badge, Unit Citation and the Korean Service Medal with 2 bronze service stars. On November 5, 1980, Audie was united in marriage to the former Jacqueline Sundby, in Milwaukee, WI, and together the couple made their home in Oconomowoc, WI, and several other locations, before moving to Gladstone in 1999. Audie was a lifelong member of the DAV and the VFW. He enjoyed working on small engines, cars, riding his bicycle, taking walks, fishing and spending time with family and his dogs.
