My deepest sympathy, Frank, to you and your son andhis family on the passing of Marguerite. I didn’t know
she was in Christian Park. I still miss Lorraine and
always looked forward to seeing her when I went up
to the U.P. to visit. I now live in Lowell with Jodi and
her family.

What a lady! She was a huge part of my childhood with countless days and nights spent at the Barak residence. Mrs. Barak was always looking out for us and up for a good laugh, arts and crafts, snacks, and generally trying to keep us out of trouble. She will remain vividly in my memory as a wonderful mother, wife, teacher, and proud Gladstone citizen. My best wishes to you, Mr. Barak, the extended family, and especially my brother down the street, John, and his family.

Very saddened to learn of the passing of Marguerite. She was a special friend and colleague in our many years together at GHS where we even shared a classroom for several years. Sympathy extended to Frank and John from Dolly and me. Rest in heavenly peace Marguerite…I’m sure the angels welcomed you with open arms.

I was so very sad to hear of the passing of Mrs. Barak. I was unable to attend her funeral services, but felt that I needed to let her family know what a wonderful and caring lady she was. I had the privilege of having Mrs. Barak for my pre-algebra teacher at Gladstone High School. I am not ashamed to admit that math was never my strong suit, and I always struggled with any math. Also being new to Gladstone I was shy and afraid to ask for help. Mrs. Barak could see my struggles right away, and quickly set to helping me in her class. She would even have me stay after and worked with me until I understood the chapters and problems we would be working on. I was so excited to pass each semester with an A! (as were my parents!) She is and was a true testament to the great teachers that really care about their students and their accomplishments. Gladstone High School truly lost a great teacher when she retired, and I always told her this when I would bump into her! I also let her know that she was most certainly my favorite teacher I had in the my 4 years at Gladstone! I wish there were more like Mrs. Barak, and that my children would have had the opportunity to have her as their teacher!
