To Fleissner family:I am so sorry to hear about Joe passing last Sunday
I truly thought he was a wonderful person and I always looked up to him – I had a chance to see him (and Von) about 4/5 years ago – He came over to my house for pizza with some of the guys that worked at the Tropical Fish Pond – Lots of laughs – Wish I could have spent more time with him – He will be missed – Don Dupler

My first vivid memory of my father-in-law was meeting him in Escanaba on a trip home with Judy at Thanksgiving in 1990 or 1991. I came downstairs in the morning to find him sitting at the kitchen table in his boxers “processing” the deer that had been hanging from the rafters the night before. Having grown up in Seattle, definitely a new experience. I always enjoyed Joe’s energy and enthusiasm and feel very lucky that I, and our kids, got to know him and spend time with him. He was definitely loved and will be missed.

Earlier last summer Joe stopped by our home. My husband and I spoke with him for a long time. I told him Yvonone was my teacher in the 70s a tears ran down Joes cheeks as he told us of her health. Then he pointed at our apple tree and told us when he planted it and all the good memories he had in our home that was once his. It was great hearing the stories. He would drive by slowly and wave we told him to bring Yvonbe over anytime and come and see the house or take as many apples as he wanted . He was a joy. God bless him. 700 South 10th Street.

He was a fun loving guy to be around who loved his family. I always enjoyed his Financial Savvy, never arrogant about it but he relished engaging those eager to learn. He’ll be missed.

Mary, I am so saddened to hear of your dad’s passing. It’s been many years but the picture you’ve attached is exactly how I remember him – smiling with a twinkle in his eye. My deepest sympathies to you and your family.
