Mary Julia Merle, age 84, of Ensign, passed away Sunday afternoon, May 17, 2015, at Christian Park Village, in Escanaba.
Mary was born February 18, 1931, in Ensign, the daughter of Frank and Mary Emily (Mauhar) Merle. She was raised in Ensign and attended the Ensign and Rapid River schools. Following school, Mary continued to work on her family farm. Additionally, she was employed at St. Francis Hospital where she worked until relocating to Milwaukee, WI. Mary eventually gained employment at Briggs and Stratton where she worked until her retirement. Mary resided in Milwaukee for 34 years. In 1992, Mary returned to Ensign where she has remained since. Mary enjoyed working in her yard raking, gardening and landscaping.

Also surviving are 2 nieces, 2 nephews and her cousins.
