Lillie Gerda Ellison, age 97, of Gladstone, MI, passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at the Tender Care Nursing Home in Munising.
Lillie was born March 2, 1918 in Brampton, MI, the daughter of Martin and Anna (Anderson) Johnson, immigrants from the Swedish speaking section of Finland.
The family became permanent residents of Gladstone in 1929. Lillie graduated from Gladstone High School in 1937. She was employed at the Gladstone office of the Escanaba Daily Press, Medical Records and Business office at Immanuel Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska, the Jewel Tea Company in Escanaba and the Jewel Food Stores office in Chicago, IL. She also served as an Elections worker for many years.
She married Albert F. Ellison on January 28, 1944 at the First Lutheran Church in Gladstone. Following Albert

Lillie and I were co-chairpersons for the World Hunger committee at First Lutheran Church for several years. She was such a wonderful, caring person and I really enjoyed our time together. My thoughts and prayers are with the Ellison family.
