Pauline Christiansen, formerly of Gladstone passed away on Wednesday, May 6 at Trinity Glen Nursing Home in Winston-Salem, NC. Pauline was born on May 26, 1925 in Chicago, Illinois to Eddy and Harriet Tharaldsen. Harriet died when Pauline was five, and Eddy married Martha Reinhartsen. Together they raised Pauline and her sister Norma. On April 27, 1946 Pauline married Arnold Christiansen in Chicago. Together they had three children Paul (Karen), Nancy (Loren Mead), and Lois (Jim Pinkerton) In 1950 Pauline and Arnie moved to Mt. Prospect, Illinois where they resided until 1985 when they moved to Escanaba and then to Gladstone.

Pauline loved being with and doing things for her family. Her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the joy of her life. She loved doing projects with Arnie, making clothes and toys for her children and grandchildren. She especially loved her family pictures, making scrapbooks and greeting cards. Pauline was known for her warm hugs and wonderful back rubs! Pauline and Arnie loved to travel. They enjoyed family visits, sightseeing and cruises.

Pauline and Arnie were active church goers. They were charter members of the Arlington Heights Evangelical Free Church in Illinois where they were active in many groups. They enjoyed their many friendships made at the United Evangelical Covenant Church when they moved to Gladstone.

Pauline was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Arnie, and her sister Norma. She is survived by her children Paul, Nancy and Lois, her grandchildren Misti (Brian Giffin) Trevin Mead, and Amanisha Mead, Jennifer (John VanLeeuwen), Jacob (Ashleigh) and Joanna Pinkerton, Erik and Paul Christiansen, and great grandchildren Evie and Lyla Giffin, and Ella Pinkerton.

Pauline was greatly loved and will be greatly missed.
