Joyce Lois Keane, age 81, of Escanaba went home to be with Jesus on Sunday, February 8, 2015 at the Christian Park Healthcare Center in Escanaba, surrounded by her family.

Joyce was born February 12, 1933 in Escanaba, the daughter of Edward and Virginia (Beauchamp) Goodreau. Joyce was an integral part in the beginnings of the Head Start Program as well as running Joyce’s Beauty Salon in her home. In the early 80’s Joyce moved to San Diego, California where she realized a dream of hers, to own her own restaurant. She was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church and was a woman of great Faith and it was seen in all that she did.

Joyce was a very selfless person who helped everyone, always putting others before herself. She was a kind and devoted mother, grandmother and wonderful friend to all she knew including special lifelong friends Jeanne Fritz and Elaine Menard. She enjoyed her children and grandchildren and was loved by everyone who knew her. She loved to read, loved cooking and especially enjoyed playing bingo with her granddaughter.

Joyce is survived by her children, Paul L Vienneau, Kelly M Piquette and James M. Keane, all of Escanaba, 6 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and a sister-in-law, Ann Goudreau.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Larry Vienneau and Jack Keane, a brother, Robert Goodreau, a sister, Loucille DeRouin, a graddaughter, Tori and a great grandson, Dean.

There will be a graveside service in the Gardens of Rest Cemetery in the Spring.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to your favorite charity in Joyce’s honor.

The family is being assisted by the Skradski Family Funeral Home in Escanaba.
