Dale Jerry Hoffmeyer, age 60, of Bark River passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at his home with his family by his side.

Dale was born November 3, 1953, in Detroit, the son of Lester and Evelyn (Ash) Hoffmeyer. He is a graduate of Clarenceville High School in Livonia, MI and was united in marriage to Ann Bennet on July 26, 1975 at the Grace Lutheran Church in Redford, MI. Dale is a retired cement mason of 18 years and worked in construction for 20 years prior. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his wife and spending time at camp with his family and friends. His grandchildren were his joy and he loved to watch them play baseball. He was a longtime sports fan. His favorite teams were the Detroit Tigers, Lions and Red Wings. He loved bowling and enjoyed it more when he bowled with his sons. He also enjoyed playing baseball and hockey.

Dale is survived by his wife, Ann of Bark River; three sons, Terry Hoffmeyer and Tim (Leslie) Hoffmeyer of Bark River and Tony (Sarah) Hoffmeyer of Escanaba; grandchildren, Cameron, McKenzie, Lexi, Austin and Kinsleigh; his adoptive mother, Betty (Vincent) Hoffmeyer; three brothers, Gary (Patricia) Hoffmeyer of Wilson, Arthur (Cathy) Hoffmeyer of Walled Lake, MI and Thomas (Barbara) Hoffmeyer of Bloomfield Hills, MI and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his mother, Evelyn Ash, his adoptive father, Gerald Hoffmeyer, his brother, Lester (Jody) Hoffmeyer and his sister, Elaine Hoffmeyer.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 4 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Bark River Bible Church. A Memorial Service will follow at 12:00 PM at the church with Pastor Brad Cochran officiating. A luncheon will be served following the services in the church fellowship hall.

The Hoffmeyer family is being assisted by the Skradski Family Funeral Home in Escanaba.
