Mary J. (Barron) Heitman, age 93, of 7035 Days River Road, Gladstone, MI passed away Sunday August 31, 2014 at Lakeview Assisted Living Center in Gladstone where she was currently residing.
Mary was born May 3, 1921 in Flint, MI the daughter of Louis and Emma (Lippens) Heynssens, and the family eventually settled in St. Nicholas. Mary was united in marriage to Peter E. Barron on November 23, 1943 at St. Joseph Church in Perkins. They made their home in St. Nicholas where they raised their 5 children. Peter preceded Mary in death in 1960. Mary began working at Eaton Corporation in Gladstone where she met and eventually married Ernest Heitman on June 10, 1967 and they resided in Gladstone. Ernie preceded Mary in death in 2004.
Mary attended St. Charles Catholic Church in Rapid River. Her hobbies included bowling, embroidering, working puzzles and watching her birds in the yard. She loved wild flowers and spending time with her family. Mary was very organized and a meticulous house cleaner. She will be sadly missed.

16 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, numerous step grandchildren, step great grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to her parents and husbands, her son Timothy Barron, granddaughter, Katie Berlier, sisters, Alice, Margaret and Emma and her brothers, Joseph and Prosper, preceded Mary in death.
