To a wonderful uncle~a very kind & gentle soul. I am blessed to have had you in my life..until we meet again- save a seat for me in the front row~Love you always..
I can’t believe we didn’t get a chance to say goodbye. We have been friends for over forty years working together at OSF, being our best man for our wedding even after you nearly split your nose in half right before, the many times we had listening to you play, and all the ups & downs we went through. Rest in Peace my friend. Peace to his children, grandchildren, and family.
Joan and FamilySo sorry for your loss. Mike was a great guy. We are praying for you and his children to find peace. If there is anything we can do please let us know. Love to all.

How many people can say they had such a wonderful uncle who took them dog sledding with his huskies, snowmobiling, tubing as soon as we could walk. I am so thankful that I can. Uncle Mike I got my love for the outdoors from you and I will always remember those fun times.
To a great friend I had since high school. When in the hospital I always stopped to say HI. He was a great man, and always someone to talk to. I will miss him greatly.
Mike was a favorite of mine to work with, he in radiology and I a nurse in the ER. He was a very carrying person and fun to chat with. He will be missed.Mary F. Nelson, RN, Retired

Dear Family. Please accept my condolences on the passing of Michael. I have many fond memories of being with Mike at work in St. Francis Hospital. Let us cling to all the good memories he leaves with us. God Bless You All! Mike’s long time friend.
I will always remember mike as being the best xray and surgical teacher!!! He made my clinical in escanaba very fun and interesting and truely made me a better tech. I still think of him evertime I go into a surgical case and now he will be watching me. I will miss you Mike! Prayers to his family!
Sorry to hear about Mike, always such a pleasant guy and a great neighbor as kids. Sorry will miss the funeral, on our way to Co. For a motorhome rally. Prayers are with the family
Mike was my cousin (his father and my mother were brother and sister). Because we didn’t live near him, I didn’t have the privilege of spending as much time with him as I would have liked. But the times that we were together were great. Mike always had a smile, a warm hug, and an interest in how we were doing. He had a gentle quietness about him that even showed in his music. He had a lot of talent, both singing and playing, but he was humble about it. We have many happy memories of Mike that we will always remember and cherish.
Little did I know the significance of that day in 1966 when I asked Mike to come over to my house and play guitar while I attempted to learn how to play the drums. It didn’t take long for Mike and I to share the dream of starting a band, and a few months later, the Prophets of Doom was formed. Fate is a mysterious thing…it turned out that the FIRST person I jammed with was the best band-mate you could ever hope for. Funny, talented, supportive. We were fortunate enough to have several Prophets of Doom reunions a few years ago and I’ll NEVER forget when I looked over and saw Mike standing at the keyboard. He had a huge grin on his face – exactly the same look I had seen so many nights on so many different bandstands. It’s a picture that I’ll never forget. Thank you Mike, for coming over to my house that fateful day 47 years ago. It change my life!
Mike was my good friend at work for many years. We had breaks and lunch together often. We shared many happy and sad memories. I will always remember Mikes smile and friendship.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Joan and Mike’s family. I spent many good days with Mike during the time I played with The Prophets. His enthusiasm for life and music made him a joy to be around and a great performer. Mike will be missed.
My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.
I’ll always recall Mike as being kind and soft spoken . Though I never had the privilege of formally playing together with him in a band, I admired & respected Mike as a person and musician. As the song goes…”if there’s a rock and roll heaven…”
Those we love don’t go away,
They walk beside us every day,
Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed and very dear.

Terry and Family and Friends….
we are so sorry and want to send our condolences to everyone. Mike was a great guy and touch so many people’s lives with his kindness and friendship. Let’s not forgot all the people he touched with his music and playing for so many Wedding over the years. Now, God has a new Musician for the Heavenly Band.
We are comforted by the fact that God loves all of us and Mike is now sharing Heaven with God and his parents and relatives and friends…
I had a dream of a place where everything was at peace. There was no more pain, no hurting or crying. A place where death forever ceased. There was no more hungry or disease. Nor, nations rising up against each other. Our new bodies, how perfect we are designed. Oh, the wisdom and knowledge of God. How unsearchable are his ways. There will be joy and peace throughout the eternal days. When I woke up from that beautiful dream. I gave thanks to Jesus Christ my Savior, Who will reign supreme. So, read to me the Word of Life page by page. God’s eternal Love will never age!
For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the Glory which shall be revealed to us.
May God Bless you and your family always and in all ways
Mike was a childhood friend of mine. He never forgot anyone over the years and was always nice to everyone he met. Always had a smile and time to visit. He will truly be missed..
Dad, I can’t find the right words to say to tell you how much I loved you. I know you would not want me to cry over you, but would rather I smile over the memories. God took you way too soon from me, but I know he wanted another angel up above. You are my hero, and I hope one day to be half the person you were.
Sorry to hear of Mike’s passing. He was always smiling that signature smile. Neighbor and friend and so many memories of the time spent following the band everywhere they played. Praying for comfort and peace for all family and friends.
As a member of our family is how we’ll always remember you. Your humble and patient nature shone brightest on all those Isabella nights, gently herding sticky-handed children up to the center stage “amphitheater” behind the garage. Gracious to all who wanted that moment in the spotlight singing to your beautiful music while you quietly smiled and let others be the star attraction. Your star shines brightly in our memories and even for a moment your beloved Lions made us proud-something tells me you enjoyed the game from a front row seat. Rest In Peace Dearest Mike.
Thanks, Mike, you were a great friend, always there for me. I will never forget all our good times in Isabella. I waited for your visits to your grandparents and cousins when we were kids. The Lions finally beat the Patriots…it really happened. I’ll think about you at the Black Bear games and around the bonfires at camp. Goodbye old friend…Ivan.
Missing you dear “Mike Sherman”. I will never forget your kindness toward me and our family. To have known you was an honor. Thank you for the wonderful memories. I will miss you.
