Roger Lee Anderson, age 71, of Escanaba passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2013, at his home, surrounded by family, after a courageous two year battle with cancer.

Roger was born April 10, 1942 in Escanaba, Michigan, the son of Elmer and Ann (Gehringer) Anderson. He was united in marriage to Jean Dahn on December 31, 1966 in Gladstone. Roger worked for the City of Escanaba as an equipment operator for 30 years until he retired in 2000.
Roger loved spending the summer and being at his camp on Stella Lake. He enjoyed feeding the deer, chipmunks and birds, riding the fourwheelers, fishing and spending time with his family. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR and loved his dogs.

Roger is survived by his wife, Jean of Escanaba; two daughters, Rhonda (John) Tebo of Wilson and Susan Anderson of Manitowoc, WI; his son, Roger (Kimberly) Anderson Jr. of Gwinn; 5 grandchildren, Brittany and Casey Tebo, Melissa LaFave, Ashley Anderson and Duane Lindstrom; 5 great grandchildren and one great grandson on the way; three brothers, Arnie (Verlynn) Anderson of Escanaba and Bill (Jane) Anderson of Escanaba and John (Tracy) Anderson of Dauphin Island, Alabama; two sisters, Pat Leask of Escanaba and Karen (Earl) Tryan of Soo Hill, brother-in-law, Kelvin (Kathy) Dahn of Brampton; numerous nieces and nephews and his dogs, Hailey and Brandi.

He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter, Brenda and an infant grandson, Jeffrey.

A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.

The Anderson family is being assisted by the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone.
