Everett C. Johnson, age 91, of 2701 1st Avenue South, Escanaba (formerly of 10293 Bayshore Drive, Rapid River) died Saturday September 4, 2004 at St. Francis Hospital in Escanaba where he was a patient.
Everett was born December 12, 1912 in Rapid River, MI the son of Leonard and Kate (Johnson) Johnson. He was raised in Rapid River and attended the Rapid River Public Schools. He married the former Florence Jackovich on May 16, 1936 in Gladstone and they made their residence in Rapid River until 2001 when they moved to Escanaba.
Everett was employed by the Delta County Road Commission for many years, retiring in 1978. He loved spending time at his camp that he built on the Whitefish River. His hobbies included woodworking, hunting and fishing. He was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Rapid River.
In addition to his wife Florence, survivors include: 1 Daughter: Kris (Donald) Montgomery of Escanaba
2 Grandchildren: Holly (Sean) Webb of Laurium, MI Heather (Greg) Alworden of Gladstone
2 Great Grandchildren: Cole and Caden Alworden of Gladstone Numerous nieces and nephews
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his 2 brother
