On Sunday, February 27th, 2005, through the blessing, love, and grace of our Lord, the gentle soul of Richard Alfred Daul was called home.
Richard was born on April 26th, 1930 in Luxemburg, Wisconsin to the late Alfred and Bessie (Novotny) Daul.
Richard served his country as a corporal in the US Army during the Korean War. After his retirement from Unisys Corporation, Richard and Karen moved to Rapid River, Michigan where he became an active member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church.
He was a loving husband of Karen (nee Kegel), dearest father of Bridget (Michael) Colson, Donna Marie (Craig) Petersen, Michael (Mary) Daul, Richard (Christine) Daul, Ellen Jane (Kyle) McNeir, and Joseph (Cynthia Walters) Daul.
He is further survived by his brother, Dean (Lila) Daul of Luxenburg, Wisconsin.
He was greatly loved by 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, as well as a sister-in-law, Joan Kegel, and special friends, Ed and Lois Beno, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other dear friends.
Those wishing to pay their respects and share in the celebration of his life may do so on Friday at 3:00 p.m. at St. Charles Church in Rapid River with Rev. Fr. David Sedlock officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in honor of Richard can be made to the family. Envelopes for donations will be available at the service at St. Charles Borromeo.
The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the Daul family.

I’ve only known Dick for a few years. He was a dear friend of my parents. He was one of the nicest people I’ve met. He truly lived his Christian faith. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Karen and her family.

Our deepest sympathy to Karen and family. Dick to me was a quite man, but always a hard worker and willing to help. He’ll be remember by me as he mixed the ingredients for our monthly pasties at church. He will be missed.
