Margartet J. Shampo, age 93, of 707 Michigan Avenue; Gladstone, died Tuesday, October 11th, 2005, at the Christian Park Village in Escanaba where she was a patient for one week.Margaret was born June 7th, 1912 in Escanaba, the daughter of August and Rachel Cretens and was a lifelong Gladstone resident.
She married Francis J. Shampo in 1935 and he preceded her in death in 1979.
Margaret was a Foster Grandparent for many years and is fondly remembered by numerous children and staff of the Gladstone School System. In her leisure, she enjoyed vegetable gardening, baking, and going to camp where she planted many trees through the years. Sorry to hear about Aunt Margaret. When my sister Margaret and I were little girls we would go to our Aunt Margaret and ask her if she had any highheels to give to us for play dress-up. She always had a pair to give. She was a very kind Aunt. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this time.
