Cleoma Roberts, age 94, former Daggett area resident and currently residing at the Bishop Noa Home in Escanaba, died Friday morning, October 7th, 2005 at the Bishop Noa Home.
Cleoma was born June 19th, 1911 in Daggett, the daughter of Archie Louis Belongie and the former Mary Ann Boyer and was a lifelong Daggett resident until relocating to Escanaba.
She married Earl Ernest Roberts May 4th, 1956 in Daggett and he preceded her in death April 9th, 1991.
Cleoma was a devout Roman Catholic and was a member of Precious Blood Church in Stephenson where she was also a member of the Sanctuary Society. Her family remembers her as the caretaker for most of her immediate family and the person who could be relied upon to assist any ailing members of her family.
Cleoma Roberts survivors include nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by all her siblings which include:
three brothers; Joseph, David, and Alphonse Belongie and four sisters; Genevieve, Nazair, Josephine, and Dorothy who where all nuns in the Roman Catholic faith.
The family of Cleoma Roberts will receive friends on Monday at the Precious Blood Church in Stephenson from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m CDT. Mass of Christian Burial will follow on Monday at 10:00 a.m. CDT at the church with Rev. Fr. Matthew Perumpally officiating. Burial will be in the Stephenson Township Cemetery.
The Anderson-Diehm Funeral Home in Stephenson in conjunction with the Skradski Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the Robert family.
