To The Goodman Family-
Tom and I extend our deepest sympathy. I have such great memories of Nona. My parents lived across the road from the Goodman family for many years. After my mother died in 1986, Nona and Dan took my dad, Earl Foster, under their wing. Since I live in Atlanta and wasn’t there all the time, they would keep an eye on him and let me know of changes in his condition. Dad always looked forward to going to Jack’s for fish frys on Friday nights with them and to the baked treats Nona would send over. He was especially fond of her chicken noodle soup. He sent me over to find out just exactally how she made it. Nona gave me her secret ingredient and to this day I am noted for what I call “Nona’s chicken noodle soup”.
I treasure all the times I would walk across the road and share a cup of coffee with Nona and Dan. Nona would bring me up to speed on things happening in town as I didn’t get back home that often at first. As dad’s condition got worse and I started to spend lots of time with him I would visit Nona when ever I could. She would always give me words of encouragement. I am going to miss her.
We will be up in Gladstone for the summer about mid May. If we can do anything for you, just give us a call.
“It is only for a while that we must part. So bless the memories within our heart.”
Keeping you in our thoughts and prayers-

Aunt Nona was a lovely and generous woman. Her home was always open to family and friends. She could feed the multitudes with her fresh baked goods, garden items, fresh smelt or venison and the table would reach into the next room when necessary. I remember first the big welcoming hugs and then the smell of the sprawling mink ranch that took a day to get used to. It was a wonderful warm home to visit and then we’d all get bunked down at the scenic cabin in the woods where we’d count the deer that would appear at dusk. The tradition of warm hospitality has been carried on by my handsome and beautiful cousins whom she was so proud of.
Aunt Nona can now rest at His table with Uncle Joe and enjoy heavenly peace.

To the family of Nona Goodman,
Please accept my deepest sympathy in the loss of your loved one. May it comfort you to know that God is with you during this difficult time.
As an aide at Christian Park Village, I found Nona to be a pleasant and appreciative resident. Nona talked so proudly of her family. She certainly enjoyed the many visits from her family—from the coffee times with her son, Dan, to the times that other family joined her for a visit. One of the interesting times that I enjoyed with Nona was when I would get her ready to go down to the dining room for supper—she rarely, if ever, left her room without her lipstick on and her beaded necklaces. I would hand her the lipstick and marvel how she put on the lipstick to near perfection without a mirror. She always gave a genuine thank you for any assistance that was given to her. I will miss her presence.
Do hold on to all the wonderful memories that you have of Nona and know that one day you may share those memories with her. Until then, her love remains with you here on earth.
With Caring Thoughts and Prayers,
