To my loving Aunt Vi who left me with so many wonderful memories growing up. What a fiesty and independent woman you were. Yet I remember the loving tenderness you exhibited when visiting with Mom after her stroke in 1995. It touched my heart in a way I shall never forget. I hope Mom and Dad as well as Uncle John have welcomed you joyously to your new venture. I was given the pillow Dad had sent you many years ago while serving in the navy. I placed it on one of Grandma’s old chairs in my bedroom. I think of you and Dad whenever I look at it – often. I do so wish I could be in Escanaba this Saturday but despite efforts to rearrange my work schedules at both the library and the court, I could not. So, while circumstances will not allow for me to be in Escanaba this Saturday, please know that I will be with you and with the family in mind and in spirit. I will miss you. But your suffering on earth is no more – and for that I am grateful. May Joanie and George take comfort in knowing how much you meant to me and, I am sure, to others. With love;
Mary
