To the McCarthys,
I feel very close to you all, as our families have been friends forever, and my heart aches for you. Jim was one of my dad’s dearest friends… the stories they could tell! I’ll remember him in so many ways, from the store, to parties at Skellengers’ camp and all the rides he gave Ann, Mary and me and our friends to the ski park and many other places! He was such a dear man. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I remember Jim when I use to go to Pat and Jims in Gladstone. I am good friends with Fleetwood and Annie. The reason I moved to Colorado is because of Annie, my dear friend of which I haven’t spoke to in years. I am deeply sorry to the family for your loss.
I just found out today about his passing. He will be missed.

Dear Pat, Dan, Diane, Barb, Mary, and Ann: I talked to my mom today and she told me of the passing of Jim. I was very sorry to hear that he had the cancer and learning that he passed made me feel worse. I would like to send our sympathies to all of you and your families. I have very fond memories of him and all of you from being your good neighbor and friend. I know when my Dad was suffering with the cancer, it was a blessing that he didn’t have to suffer so long. I hope that you are all comforted by God and by your faith, and that your grief may be tempered by the fact that he is in a better place now. I’ll try to give you a call at home as soon as I can.

Words somehow never seem to say what our hearts want to express. Its with deep sorrow and heavy heart that I write this. Uncle Jim will be missed. He always seemed to me to be a caring loving person who truly loved his family and life. What we need to know is that he truely is in a better place and free from pain and suffering. Its the living that will miss him dearly. Its the living that need their friends and family now, rely on each other and draw strength from each other its how we all got through Daddy’s and Bobby’s death. You really appreciate each other and share in your sorrow as well as rejoice in your fathers accomplishments. We will all miss him and have you all in our hearts and prayers.
