Our hearts are broken to hear that Bill has left us. I always looked forward to seeing him on Saturday’s when he picked up his paper at the Grain n Grape when I worked there. He was always ready with a smile and a little bit of teasing me about my “poor choice of football teams!” (I’m a Vikings fan lol!)
He was good friends with my father-in-law Paul Wedell and we used to see him occasionally at different events. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends and I pray you all find comfort in your good memories of him. He was one of the really good ones and will be fondly remembered, but sadly missed.

I met Billy and Kathy in 1978. He was my training officer and friend. Billy made work fun and interesting. Taught me Cribbage and Euchre and how to properly pull a practical joke on fellow Troopers. Our prayers to Kathy and the family.

Bill and my grandfather Duane worked at the Gladstone State Police post together. I would visit and I remember that I really liked “Officer Shine’s” name. I was a shy kid, and he was so kind to me. He called me Little Person and I grew to always look forward to seeing him. He will be dearly missed.
