Vickie: Just wanted to send you a quick note to say how beautiful Bill’s services were. It really was a celebration of his life and from everything that was said, he was truly a wonderful person. It took a lot of courage for you to speak and you said everything perfectly. Take care!

I waitressed at Jack’s Restaurant where Bill came in often. We would have his order memorized and ordered when he came in the door and then he would decide on something else just to keep us on our toes. He was very nice to talk to and a wonderful costumer! He was fun, we will miss him.
Oh yeah, he always had a smile on his face which helped make your day great.

I would like to take this opportunity to send my condolences regarding the death of Bill Britton. My husband and I contracted with Daryl Lindquist in the fall of 2005 to build our new home on Mallard Lane in Gladstone. Bill was Daryl?s chief builder. Bill was a pleasure to work with. He took great pride in his work and often came to us with ideas as to how to improve the design of the home. His work was top-notch, from the general construction to the finish work. Whenever I went out to check on the progress of the home, Bill and his trusty pooch were always out there plugging away, rain or snow. I can?t imagine having a better working relationship with a builder. He was a great listener, a hard worker, a perfectionist, and a great person. I feel honored to have known him and worked with him. Our beautiful home is a testament to his work. I know he was very proud of the work he did on our home, and we will treasure our home and his memory forever.

I will always remember Bill’s kindness and smiling face at Grace. He always asked me how I was doing and had a caring smile and hug or handshake. He was a help to our family and it will always be appreciated and remembered. I will miss him for sure! We are in Florida at the present time and can’t attend the funeral and that is very hard to not be able to say good-bye. Vicky is very special to me too! I want to give her a great big hug!

My daughter and I would like to say a few things about Bill Britton. He is a very kind guy. He would always help others before himself! He’s a great friend of ours. He would pick up my dad Jerry every tuesday and thursday for meetings. Bill was always there for people who needed him the most. He is now in a very special place. He was a packer fan, he would always joke around with my dad about the lions. He will sadly be missed by family and friends, but he will always be in our hearts.
Yours Truely,
Jerry & his daughter Jennifer Clausen

I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Bill since he was 16. In that time he showed me many things. He showed me a lot of tricks to do the job right. The Lord must need carpenters. I will miss my mentor, my friend, my brother. I will never forget you Wild Bill. I am glad to have had you in my life as long as I did. See you when I get there, we’ll build something.

May Bill’s testimony to his Lord, Jesus Christ, live on in your lives forever. Never forget his work ethic, his patience, his love, and his faith in what the Lord meant to him. We are praying here in Minneapolis for all of your family during this difficult time. May Jesus hold you in His arms and give you the peace of knowing that you will see Bill again in Heaven. God bless you.

Bill spent most of his school years in Gladstone, and I had known him probably since kindergarten or first grade. I had the pleasure of running into him in the Super Value about a year ago and hearing about how well his life has been going. He had the best smile. On behalf of the Gladstone Class of 1981, our sincere condolences to his family. Many thoughts and prayers are with you.

Weep not for me
now that I have passed.
Remember the laughter, the affection, the joy
not just the recent tears.
Cherish the memories, our hopes and dreams.
Hold fast to the love that we shared.
Be happy with the time we spent together
and being anew.
For I am not really gone,
I am closer than ever before.
As the morning sun rises
and throughout the busy day…I am with you.
Until the setting sun disappears on the horizon
and we watch the day turn into night…I am here.
You may feel a faint breeze stir round your head, while you slumber
as I gently kiss your forehead, “Good night.”
The stars that shine so brightly in my heavenly sky
help me watch over you and keep you from harm.
I am the wind in the trees
and the song of a bird.
I am moonbeams in a midnight sky
and a glorious rainbow after the storm.
I am morning dew
and freshly-fallen snow.
I am a butterfly flying overhead
and a puppy happily at play.
I am a smile on a stranger’s face
a gentle touch
a warm embrace.
Listen to the wind for my message of love.
Watch the sun rise and set in the sky with me.
Feel my essence encircle you with warm memories.
Open your heart to know…I am not gone.
Reach deep into your soul…You will find me.
I am here.
Have no fear.
I am with you,
Always.
I’m so sorry for you’re lost. My thoughts and prayer’s are with you. I have included a poem I thought might help.
