Gregory “Greg” G. Balenger, age 68, of Gladstone, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 17, 2023 at OSF St. Francis Hospital.
Greg was born on August 4, 1955, in Escanaba, the son of Harry and Josephine (Moreau) Balenger. Greg was raised in Gladstone and graduated from Gladstone High School. Greg served in the United States Marines until his honorable discharge. Greg worked as a truck driver for most of his life. He also enjoyed hunting and loved his dogs Sable and Oscar.
Greg is survived by his son Gregory (Susan) Jarvey; step-son Calvin Burt; siblings Debbie (John) Vargo and Scott (Brenda) Balenger; grandchild Brandon Jarvey; nieces and nephews Tricia Balenger, Clifford Pepin, Rebecca (Rick) Neuman, Andie and Elijah Balenger, Sally (Rob) Rager, and Pam (Jim) Gibbs; as well as several cousins.
Greg is preceded in death by his parents; wife Tina Balenger; brothers Mike (Colleen) Balenger and Wally Balenger; and sister Annamae Nickell.
In accordance with Greg’s wishes, no services will be held. Greg will be laid to rest in the spring at Fernwood Cemetery.
