Members of George Becker’s family,
We were saddened to learn of George’s death. We had the privilege of knowing George over the past 25 years. We often visited at Jack’s Restaurant which was his local haunt. We all liked George and he had many interesting experiences to share with us. He was at a loss with the death of his dear, Phyllis, and often spoke highly of their lives together. He had a wonderful sense of humor and we all enjoyed him. He was a fine man and a loyal resident of Rapid River. Our prayers and sympathies are with all of you. Our presence will be in spirit and prayer due to the distance we are currently from Rapid River. Know of our best wishes and good thoughts your Dad. Sincerely,
Deacon Bill and Chetti Green

I met George in 1984 as a friend of Mark Becker, George’s grandson. In 1986 I married Michele, my friend Marks sister, George’s granddaughter. For about a year George didn’t seem friendly toward me because as I found out he thought Michele was pregnant when we got married. One day at Patricia’s house, my mother in law I asked him if he’d done the math on us ? He just said “what do you mean math ? I said well we got married on July 25th “86” and had Ashley, (our first child) December 10th “87” after that we became good friends and he nicknamed me Hollywood ! George was my definition of a man ! I was blessed and proud to speak on behalf of our family at his funeral and will never forget him ! God bless this man George Becker !
