Dale T. Gibson, age 91, of Gladstone, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 27, 2023 at Transitions Assisted Living in Gladstone.
Dale was born on February 15, 1932, in Battle Creek, the son of Lloyd and Verna (Howard) Gibson. Dale grew up in Battle Creek before they relocated to Rapid River, where Dale graduated from high school. He was then drafted into the United States Army in which he served from 1952 to 1954 before his honorable discharge. After leaving the Army, Dale returned to work in Battle Creek before deciding that the city life wasn’t for him. He then came back to the Upper Peninsula. Dale worked for most of his life in the construction field but also was involved with real estate as well as being the VP for the teamsters union. He was also a member of the Gladstone Yacht Club.
On September 5, 1970, Dale was united in marriage to the former Patricia Elliott. Together they spent 53 wonderful years. Together, Patricia and Dale traveled often and wintered for 18 years in the Gulf Shores. Dale was also an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved going to camp and taking rides in the woods. He also raised and trained bird dogs, which he took great pride in. Together, Dale and Patricia owned Gibby’s Bar in Gladstone where many friends and memories were made. Most of all, Dale loved being with his family. He will truly be missed.
Dale is survived by his loving wife, Patricia, children Crystal (Dennis) Hardwick, Sam (Diane) Gibson, Kelly (Joel) Jurosek, and Tina (Jim) Brassick; 7 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Private services honoring Dale will be held.
