Vivian Dorothy Miller, age 90, of Gladstone, passed away Thursday, September 21, 2023 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Green Bay.
Vivian was born February 1, 1933 in Gladstone, MI, the daughter of Alphonse and Amelia (Bourbonnais) Belongie. She attended and graduated from Gladstone Area Schools Class of 1951.
Vivian was united in marriage to Harvey “Bill” Miller on December 7, 1952 in Sacramento, CA before moving back to Masonville where they raised their 4 children. They spent 68 beautiful years together.
In her high school days, Vivian was very athletic and enjoyed competition. She took part in the Queen’s Court, basketball, cheerleading and they even called her baseball Viv. Vivian was voted prettiest blue eyes and she gladly passed that down to some children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed bowling at the Midway Bowling Alley in Gladstone.
Vivian was an active member of All Saints Catholic Church. She served on many activities and helped wherever it was needed. She enjoyed being a Eucharistic Minister who brought communion to the homebound. Vivian also liked volunteering for rummage sales, playing cards, and helping out the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
Vivian was a devoted Green Bay Packer fan and an avid gardener. She passed her love for canning and gardening onto her children and grandchildren.
Camp was also an important aspect of Bill and Vivian’s life. Camp was their sanctuary and they enjoyed spending time at the camp they built on the Escanaba River together.
Vivian also liked sewing and knitting. She made all the kids pajamas, gloves and slippers. She even graduated into making blankets that her family still treasures.
Traveling and trips with her sisters became a favorite through her life. There were numerous bus trips taken all across the United States. She also enjoyed fishing with her husband and grandchildren. Any memories with the grandchildren were the best. Vivian was also the best bread baker.
