Roger L. Deneau Sr., age 78, of Rapid River passed away at home on November 26, 2022.
Roger was born May 18, 1944 in Escanaba, the son of Walter and Marie (Micheau) Deneau. Roger served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and the Army National Guard for another 13 years until he was discharged in 1986. He worked for Wendrick Truss Inc. for many years, was a member of the Rapid River American Legion Post 301 and enjoyed going to camp, fishing, dartball and spending time with his family.
Roger is survived by his wife, Hope of Rapid River; children, Todd (Tammie), Dan (Christine), Roger (Heather) Deneau and Kim (Fred) Willis; step-children, Christopher and Otto Drossart, Jennifer (Rick) Gagnon, Connie Johnson and Tammy Julein; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; siblings, John (Linda), Donald (Sue) and Francis Deneau, Theresa Fleury, Nancy (Ken) Green, Catherine Dausey and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn, his sons, Greg and James (Kent) Deneau,his parents and siblings, Mary Dausey, Linda (Matt) Thomma, Walter and James.
The Deneau family will receive friends on Thursday, December 1 from 2:00 to 3:00 PM at the Congregational Church in Rapid River. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM with Pastor Bill Rafuse officiating. Graveside services and Military Honors will be held in the Rapid River Cemetery at a later date.

My condolences to Hope and the family on the passing of Roger. As township supervisor, I enjoyed working and visiting with Roger when he would come into the township office. He was always so very pleasant.

Farewell to an old classmate and boyhood friend. We spent many a summer day as kids enjoying the outdoors in our neighborhood. Roger was a good man. I am glad he got to take part in the Honor Flight before he passed. RIP Old Friend.
