10 Tributes for “Jean A. Schmidt

Dearest Ms Schmidt, You taught me so much, and some of it was even in the classroom. It was great that you were always interested in who I was no matter my age. Loving your students was always your super power.
    God’s peace,
    Pat Ziems

Dear Jean: You were a creative and caring teacher. You were my faithful friend for many years. I loved teaching with you. I am proud to be counted among your closest friends. May you meet many of your beloved students in the next life!

Jean, You were an awesome anonymous provider to the youth at our facility during the holidays. Thank you.

Jean taught my son to read in first grade. How big a gift is that? I remember she invited all the moms to come to class for Mother’s Day, and she taught the kids a sweet little song to sing to their moms. I felt honored. After she retired, I was her personal shopper for a year or so. She was so determined to keep her dignity, and to do good where she could. Though she was unwilling or unable to leave her house due to arthritis and other issues of old age, she took up a collection and arranged for a memorial plaque to be placed by a flowering tree on the Jones School grounds. I think it was for a former superintendent. She was an amazing lady!

Rest in peace my dear friend of many years. She was a wonderful educator and such a fun friend. I will surely miss our long chats on the phone.

Ms. Schmidt was an amazing teacher and friend to her students and their family-inside and outside of the classroom. The year my daughter had her as a teacher, my daughters appendix burst. She missed many weeks of school. Ms. Schmidt was in constant contact, getting and retrieving her homework so she wouldn’t miss any learning that is so important in the 1st grade. She loved all of her kiddos like they were her own. Rest in Eternal Peace Miss Schmidt-you’ve certainly earned your wings!

Jean, you were such a good friend to my parents, and of course to me as well, for my whole life. There are so many memories over the years that it would be impossible to touch on them all. Your love of animals (dogs in particular) absolutely rubbed off on me. And, although I’ve knew it then, I certainly gained a whole new perspective years later on the impact you had on students (and young people in general) through your dedication to teaching and being a positive mentor. The last time we spoke it seemed like no time had passed at all; You were every bit as connected to the lives of your friends as you ever were. Thank you, Jean. You’ll remain in my heart forever. May you rest in peace.

Ms. Schmidt was one of the teachers in my life that helped me to see my value and recognize, I too, could be successful in the academic arena. She spent lots of extra time with me and had a huge impact on my life. I will always hold her in my heart. I know we are all lucky to have her looking over us again!!!
Heaven is now blessed with one of the brightest souls I have known.
    Peace, Love, and Gratitude,
    Namaste❤️

Dearest Ms. Schmidt, you were the kindest soul who taught kindness, and love by example. You made each child feel special and loved and that was your true calling in life! You brought each child out to dinner to celebrate their birthday and made them feel like they mattered! You were a pioneer in your profession! You will be missed.
