Mae Dorothy Pease, age 99, formerly of Escanaba passed away on June 1, 2022 at the Lynden Manor Assisted Living in Lynden, Washington.
Mae was born May 27, 1923 in Escanaba, the daughter of Oscar and Rhoda (Irving) Anderson. She was united in marriage to George W. “Wes” Pease on July 3, 1947. She worked as a waitress at Tommy’s Diner and rebuilt motors for Northern Motor Rebuilders for many years. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Senior Center in Escanaba and enjoyed playing cards, cribbage and bingo, camping, fishing, golfing, cooking, dancing and humming birds and especially enjoyed spending time with her family and with Wes at their cabin on the Escanaba River and wintering in Florida.
Mae is survived by her daughter, Patricia (Robert Blackstad) Godfrey of Bellingham, Washington; sister Vera Segorski of Escanaba; grandchildren, Decker Wong-Godfrey and Heather Burke; great grandchildren, Jazmine Burke and Emerson Peter Wong-Godfrey and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George, her parents, an infant daughter, Margaret Lee Pease, and siblings, June Anderson, Alice Hillard, Josephine Joncas, Eliza Dubord and Irving Anderson.
The family will receive friends on Friday, June 10 from 10:00 to 12:00 at the Skradski Family Funeral Home in Escanaba. Funeral services will be at 12:00 with Pastor Mike Markwell officiating. A luncheon will follow at the Bethany Lutheran Church. Mae will be laid to rest in the Gardens of Rest Cemetery in Wells.
Memorial contributions in Mae’s name may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association.
