Nancy J. Flynn, age 72, of Gladstone passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Sunday, April 3, 2022 at 11:45 PM at the St. Francis Hospital in Escanaba.

Nancy was born June 21, 1949 at home in St. Ignace, Michigan, the daughter of Francis and Ethel (Ney) LaJoice. She attended Ursuline Academy Catholic School and graduated from LaSalle High School in 1967. She was united in marriage to Thomas Flynn on September 2, 1967 at St. Ignatius Loyola Church. Together they welcomed three daughters, Rebecca, Shelley and Kathleen.

Nancy worked at Pembles Grocery in St. Ignace until the family moved to Lapeer, Michigan and eventually made their permanent home in Gladstone.

Nancy enjoyed reading, bird watching, and spending time with her family. Her and Tom enjoyed traveling. Her favorite place to be was Disney Land. She was an excellent cook and her fried chicken and baked beans will be missed.

Nancy is survived by her husband, Tom of Gladstone; her children, Rebecca and her husband, Roger Swiger, Kathleen and her husband, Bryan Gray and Shelley and her husband, Randy Baumgartner; grandchildren, Heather and her husband, Kevin Magness, Hannah, Harmon and Holden Swiger, Ariel and her husband, Damon Huston, Nicholas and his wife, Hika Flynn, Kyle and his wife, Jaclyn Luft, Avery Luft and Nicole Baumgartner; great grandchildren, Parker, Sophia, Rhyland, Bellamy and Emily and several nieces and nephews. She was especially close to her nieces, Lori and Stephanie.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Greg, David and Michael.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 9 from 9:00 to 10:30 AM at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 AM at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Perkins with Fr. William Ssozi officiating. A luncheon will follow in the parish hall. Nancy will be laid to rest in the St. Ignatius Loyola Cemetery in St. Ignace.

    Tom and Family, we are filled with mixed emotions, we are sad that Nancy has passed from this life , but we rejoice that her pain and suffering has ended. Condolences and prayers for comfort , may God bless you.

    Much love and condolences to my Uncle Tom and the girls. My Aunt Nancy was a valuable asset to our family. I will be forever grateful for the comfort and wisdom she provided to me during some of the darkest times of my life. Her passing is truly a loss to all family, friends and neighbors.

    She was surely a special person a Gem. I enjoyed seeing her at work through the years. Condolences to Tom and his family.

    Tommy you know how I loved Nancy.She was a great person and wonderful sister-in law. You know I would be there Saturday if I could. Hug and kiss the girls for me. Love sissie
