David L. Verbrigghe, age 61, of St. Nicholas, passed away on Monday, March 7, 2022 at OSF St. Francis Hospital in Escanaba.
David was born July 24, 1960, in Escanaba, the son of Jerome and Judy (Vandenbusche) Verbrigghe. David grew up and graduated from Mid Peninsula High School in the class of 1978. David grew up on a dairy farm and then later went to work for U.P. Concrete Pipe Company in September of 1999. He also worked on his Uncle’s potato farm in addition to the pipe company. He was an extremely hard worker.
David was united in marriage to the former Linda Brunette on January 16, 1982, and together they shared many years of wonderful memories. David was an avid Green Bay Packer fan. He also enjoyed mowing the lawn, cutting firewood, and keeping busy helping others and being on the farm. Mister St. Nicholas and Beef were just a few of the nicknames David earned in his life. He was a true character.
David put others above himself and would lend a hand to help anybody in need, no matter the circumstances. He especially enjoyed being with his grandkids and his family. David was a great husband, father, and friend. He will truly be missed by so many.
David is survived his wife Linda, children Justin (Danielle) Verbrigghe and Leesa (Victor) LaCosse, grandchildren Colton and Aleeya LaCosse, siblings Duane (Stephanie) Verbrigghe and their children Paige and Morgan, and Amy (Ron) Koski and their children RJ and Cody, his parents Jerome and Judy Verbrigghe, sisters-in-law Laurie Brunette and her children Kaleen and Kristi, and Cindi (Chris) Bushore and their children Alex, Ally, and Christian “Bubba”, mother-in-law Jane Brunette, as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

We called him “Brigghe” growing up. Always working and when he wasn’t, he was having fun. He never did anything half speed. He was a friend you could count on. He comes from an extraordinary family which explains why he was such a good man. Class of ’78 will miss you.
