Martha Jean Bozzo, age 76, passed away at Christian Park Center on March 2, 2022.

Martha was preceded in death by her husband Richard L. Bozzo, her parents Albert and Dora Wickham, her niece Heather Wickham, and her sister Nancy Carissimi. Martha is survived by her children Gina Bozzo of Bark River and Joseph “Joe” Bozzo of Grand Rapids, her brother Albert (Rita) Wickham of Rapid River, her sister Mary (Donald) Verdon of Chicago, and her youngest brother William “Bill” (Diane) Wickham of Rapid River. Martha had 6 grandchildren who she loved dearly and brought years of joy to her, Philip LaMarch, Payten and Zowie Bozzo, and Taylor, Brennan, and Nicklas Shanahan. Martha was also blessed to have 5 great-grandchildren who will forever keep their parents on their toes. Martha also has several nieces and nephews who she loved dearly.

Martha was born June 23, 1945, the daughter of Albert and Dora (Sturge) Wickham. She was a graduate of Rapid River High School in 1963. She devoted her entire life to loving and caring for her children, her family, and those she cared for. Martha was a forever caretaker. She taught her family the true meaning of selfless love and care of others. Martha was truly a selfless, humble, and compassionate caring soul. She enjoyed a good football game, a great book, time with her family, and a day at the lake in Lake City, Michigan. She will be truly missed by so many.

A private memorial service will take place this summer in Houghton Lake where she will be laid to rest with her parents and sister.

Martha’s family would like to express their deepest gratitude to each member of Christian Park Center’s Staff, the OSF Hospice team, and UPCAP. The love, respect, and friendship that was developed during this time was exceptional. Bless you all.

    From the very moment Mary and I got married you were their with us all thru our lives you were there at our girls weddings you were there and now that God has called you .Your still with us forever in our hearts and in our memories.Martha Jean R.I.P. Gone but never forgotten

    Martha was my sister in law. When she and my brother got engaged I was the first one they told, I was 13. Martha was was a simple but kind person. She was so easy to make laugh. I will miss her but knowing her and my brother are reunited for eternity is soothing to my heart. She produced 2 great kids and many grandchildren. Rest In Peace ❤️
