JR Shinnaberry

JR was born October 13, 1990, in Escanaba, the son of Henry Shinnaberry Sr. and Joyce Martin. JR was raised in the Gladstone and Iron Mountain areas. JR worked as a bricklayer with Local Union 2 for 6 years and he loved his job. He was a very hard worker.

On May 27, 2017, JR was united in marriage to the former Jessica Casey. Together they shared so many wonderful memories. JR also loved hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors. He was also an avid Packer fan, Go Pack Go! The most important thing to JR was his kids and his family. They were the light of his life, and he loved spending time with them. He will be truly missed by so many.

JR is survived by his wife, Jessica Shinnaberry, children Kailee Martin, Brie Ketcham, Ryder Forvilly, Caleb Casey, Wyatt Shinnaberry Forvilly, Alexa Casey, Kynslee Forvilly, and Mia Shinnaberry, parents Henry (Laurie) Shinnaberry Sr. and Joyce Martin, siblings Jeffery Fleury, Nate Feathers, Kristine Woods, Tiffany (Elliot) Shinnaberry, Venetia Shinnaberry, Marissa Shinnaberry, Brianna Walker, and Skylar Walker, grandparents Clem and Phyllis Fleury and John and Rhesa Martin, his beloved dog Buddy, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

JR is preceded in death by his brother David John Maloney, grandma Mary Lou Fleury and grandma Mae Silvis.

The family asks that friends and guests wear orange as that was JR’s favorite color.

Family will receive friends on Friday, March 4, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 noon at Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Some closing words will conclude visitation at 12:00 noon and there will be a luncheon to follow at the Gladstone American Legion Hall.

    I had the pleasure of working with JR. I always looked up to his work ethic and miss talking sports with him on our lunch breaks.
