William “Bill” Mauhar

William “Bill” Mauhar, age 89, of Gladstone, passed away Monday, January 22, 2018 at Bellin Hospital in Green Bay, WI.
Bill was born on January 29, 1928, in Ensign, MI, the son of John and Slava (Stemac) Mauhar. He grew up on the family farm until he joined the Armed Forces. He serviced in the Korean Conflict as a heavy vehicle operator. After completing his service, he returned to Ensign and the family farm.

He worked for the Escanaba Paper Company for many years before retiring. He was also an active member of the Rapid River American Legion. He loved to go dancing, on short trips, and hunting.

Bill is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, several cousins, and his very dear friend and companion, Marilyn Matthys.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by:
Wife: Donna (Raspor) Mauhar
5 Brothers: Joe, John, Tony, Matt, and Eddie.
4 Sisters: Anne, Sally Lapuszewski, Emma Harte, and Mary Dominick.

Family will receive friends, Saturday, January 27 from 10:00 until 12:30 PM at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. The Rosary will be recited at 10:30 AM. Military Honors will be presented at 12:30 PM by the Rapid River American Legion. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:00 PM at All Saints Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Jamie Ziminski officiating. Bill will be laid to rest in Fernwood Cemetery in Gladstone. The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the Mauhar family.
