Gladstone, MIWilliam L. “Bill” Amann, 94, of 8267 N.7 Lane, Gladstone, passed away Monday evening December 26, 2016 at the Bishop Noa Home in Escanaba where he currently was residing.

Bill was born August 28, 1922 in Pontiac, MI the son of William and Eva (Ainsworth) Amann. He was raised in Pontiac where he graduated from St. Fredrick’s High School. Bill served his country in the U.S. Army during WW II in the European Theater of Operations with General Patton. Upon his honorable discharge in 1945, he was awarded the EAME Theater Ribbon w/5 Bronze Stars, WW II Victory Medal and Bronze Star Medal.

Bill, his wife Joan, and 3 sons moved to Gladstone in 1968 from Pontiac. Bill was a Supervisor for Michigan Bell Telephone Company until his retirement. He was a member of the All Saints Catholic Church in Gladstone.

Brother: Edward (Joyce) Amann of Sebewing, MI

Sister: Mary Cox of Pontiac, MI

3 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren also survive.

In addition to his parents, his wife Joan, on July 27, 2009 preceded Bill in death.

According to Bill’s wishes, the family will hold private services. Memorial contributions in memory of Bill may be directed to the Gladstone Library. The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Escanaba and Gladstone are assisting the Amann family.
