Escanaba, MIWalter Thomas Eagle Sr., age 69, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, February 14, 2017, at his home in Escanaba with his loving wife, Lorraine, by his side.
Walter is lovingly remembered by his wife; Lorraine (Stoltz) Eagle, children; Tina (Rob) Nelson, Lori (Dave) Weyant and Wally (Christy) Eagle, 10 grandchildren; Natosha, Jaiven, Aubree, Kayla, Elyssa, Samantha, Justin, Sydney, Dezarae and Cade; his 1st and only great grandchild; Averie, father; Walter (Katherine) Eagle, siblings; Sue (Ron) Mayville, Jeni (Bob) Olsze, Doris LaPointe and Robert Eagle.
His mother, Lillian (Carmody) Eagle preceded Walter in death.
Walter was born and raised in Brampton, MI. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1966. Walter was a disabled Army veteran who was proud to have served his country. He loved to fish and hunt and enjoyed his collection of cigarette lighters, eagles, Native American and quirky shaped objects that nature had provided over the years. “Let your spirit eagle roam free”. He is loved and will be sadly missed.
Graveside services and military honors will be conducted at the convenience of Walter’s family in the spring. Memorial donations may be sent in Walt’s name to support Wheelin’ Sportsmen, an organization that helps disabled veterans experience the outdoors.
