Shirley M. Wilson, 92, passed away at Sunny View in Flat Rock, MI on Tuesday, March 21, 2017.

Shirley was born July 7, 1924 in Glen Flora, WI, the daughter of William and Gertrude (Angel) Howard. She was born and raised on the family farm. She was united in marriage to  Ronald Wilson on July 13, 1946. They had four sons and were married 65 years. Together they owned and ran a dairy farm in Glen Flora, WI. In 1959 they moved to Lansing, MI. Then, in 1971 they moved to Gladstone, Micigan,  where they loved their house and the area. They were members of the Memorial United Methodist Church of Gladstone. Shirley was a homemaker and enjoyed time with all her family, visiting people, a sense of humor, being creative, making many quilts, crafts, dolls, games and marionettes, reading, and playing cards, especially Skipbo.

She will be missed. Shirley’s family would like to thank all the caregivers and doctors who have taken care of her.

Shirley is survived by 3 sons, Jeff (Barb) Wilson of Somerset, MI, Les (Denise) Wilson of Gladstone, Rick (Chris) Wilson of Quinnisec, MI., daughter-in-law Sandy Wilson of Holt, MI., 3 brothers, Marvin (Diana) Howard, Rufus (Carolyn) Howard, David (Peggy) Howard, 8 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Ronald Wilson, son Greg Wilson, granddaughter Kellie Wilson, 5 brothers Don Howard, Raymond Howard, Harlan Howard, Robert Howard, William Howard, and 2 sisters, Elizabeth McConnell, and Rachel Heintz.

Shirley’s family will receive friends on Saturday, April 1, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Memorial United Methodist Church in Gladstone. Memorial services will follow at 12:00 PM with Rev. Caroline Hart officiating. A luncheon will follow in the fellowship hall.

Memorial contributions in Shirley’s name may be directed to the Memorial United Methodist Church or the U.P. Health System Home Care and Hospice.

    Shirley was one of the nicest people that I have ever known, as was Ron. Angels on earth and now in heaven.

    Shirley was a special lady,, Very kind, talented and beautiful lady..She will be missed in our sewing group. May she rest in peace..
