Russell Raymond Romashko, age 80, passed away Tuesday afternoon, June 6, 2017, at his home in Escanaba.
Russell was born April 5, 1937, in Escanaba, the son of Andrew and Olga (Wajakowski) Romashko. He was raised in Escanaba and was a 1956 graduate of Escanaba High School. Following high school, Russell enlisted in the United States Army where he served until his honorable discharge in 1961. On September 26, 1977, Russell was united in marriage to the former Noreen Larson and together the couple made their home and raised their family in Escanaba. Russell was employed at Harnischfeger Corporation, working as a machinist and storekeeper, for 35 years. He enjoyed reading, fishing, boating, target practicing and scenic photography.

Nephew: Matthew Romashko
Grandchildren: Brent and Jared Larson
Russell’s parents, Andrew and Olga, brother, Gerald and nephew, Mark preceded him in death.
Graveside service prayers will be conducted on Friday, at 2:00PM, at the Bark River Cemetery with Mike Donovan officiating. Military rites will also be conducted by the Bark River American Legion Post #438.
