Roseanne M. “Rose” Polequin, 81, of 326 N. 16th Street, Escanaba, passed away Friday evening April 13, 2018 at home surrounded by her loving family.
Rose was born December 26, 1936 in Perkins, MI the daughter of Homer and Helen (Frossard) Drossart. She was united in marriage to John “Jack” Balthazore on February 2, 1963 and he preceded her in death in 1968. She later married Edward Polequin on December 18, 1976 and he preceded her in death in 1983.
Rose was a loving and caring Mother to her four children. She made sure they always had what they needed and was great at stretching a dollar to make ends meet. She was a wonderful homemaker and cook known for her excellent pasties. Rose enjoyed riding her 3-wheel bike and could be seen riding throughout the City of Escanaba. She often spent her time visiting and helping to care for homebound friends ensuring they had the necessities they needed along with companionship. Rose was a loving Grandmother who cherished times spent with her Grandchildren. She especially enjoyed going out for lunch with them and times spent at her home.
Rose was a long time member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Escanaba. She also volunteered for many years at the St. Vincent DePaul Store in Escanaba.

6 grandchildren: Jason, Amanda, Justin, Christina, Emily and Tia
13 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins

In addition to her parents and husband’s, an infant son Jeff, siblings, Wilbert, Otto, Homer, Peter, Marylou, Helen, Patricia, Ruth, grandchildren, Shawna Gerdeen, D.J. Feathers, and son-in-law, Kevin Gerdeen preceded Rose in death.
Rose’s family will receive friends on Wednesday April 18, 2018 at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone from 3:00 to 5:00 pm. Funeral services celebrating the life of Rose Polequin will follow at 5:00 pm with Rev. Fr. Brian Gerber officiating. Luncheon will follow at the Gladstone Senior Center. She will be laid to rest at the Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Escanaba.
