Robert L. Britton, age 58, passed away Monday, March 4, 2019, at his home in Gladstone. Bobs gentle heart, huge smile and boisterous laughter will be missed by many. He was loved by many. Bob was born on October 26, 1960, in Norway, MI, the son of Richard F. and Janice (Fleetwood) Britton. He was raised in Powers and Gladstone, graduating GHS in 1978. Bob had hitchhiked the country as a young man with friends before joining the United States Airforce. After serving his country, Bob joined Associated Springs (ASBG) in Texas, eventually retiring from ASBG in Milwaukee, WI due to health. Bob fought his battle with cancer with the help of his many beloved angels, including Aunt Jeannie, recently deceased Aunt Esther and with the help of many loving family members and friends. Bob loved his children, grandchildren and family very much. Bob spent his last years enjoying life in the U.P. with a life-long passion for sports, fishing, gardening, camping, and sharing good times and a bomb-fire with family and friends.
In addition to his father, Richard Sr., Bob is survived by his daughter Ariel and step children Rudy, Rachel, and Sophia; grandchildren Uriah, Nehemiah and Moriah of Milwaukee; brothers Brian (Theresa) Britton, Gladstone, Gary (Trixie) Britton, Traverse City, Richard Britton Jr., Brampton, Jamie (Brandi) Britton, Gladstone, Jeremy (Jane) Britton, Escanaba; sisters Beth (Steve) Nelson, Rapid River, Barb (Dana) Montgomery, Perkins, Amanda Murphy, New York; sisters-in-law Vickie Britton of Gladstone and Patti Britton of Gwinn; Bob is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Bob was preceded in death by his step-son Armando (JR), mother, Janice and brother, Billy. Bob’s family is planning a memorial gathering for the summer of 2019.

    Will miss you my friend. All the great times we had together and at Denny’s Den as partying teenagers. We had so many laughs and jamming to Foghat and other great bands. Rest in peace bro and I’ll see you again.
